Ulterio Motiv

HOW IT WORKS

Wondering exactly how our 6×4 conversion works and if you should opt for our “lazy” load-carrying axle or our full 6×6 configuration? Read on to learn more…

ULTERIO MOTIV’S 6×4 CONVERSION

Ulterio Motiv’s 6×4 conversion employs a so-called “lazy” (non-driven) third axle, which unlocks the desired GVM increase while still enhancing go-anywhere ability.

The lazy axle configuration is more cost effective and lighter than our full 6×6 version, while also greatly reducing complexity and maintenance requirements.

KEY POINTS OF THE 6×4 CONVERSION

Customer provides the standard vehicle

Rear chassis extended to provide longer base

Added load-carrying axle includes brakes

Third axle uses cantilever suspension system

Driven and lazy axles share mass 60:40

Driven axles thus still maintain good traction

Rear track width corrected to match front

Front suspension upgraded as well

Conversion takes about six weeks to complete

ULTERIO MOTIV’S 6×6 CONVERSION

Our 6×6 conversion allow customers to tackle off-road excursions with confidence and boosts the GVM to a whopping 6 050 kg (2 850 kg more than that of the standard vehicle).

This design features a straight-through diff drive from the second to third axle, in combination with a slipper-type clutch to only activate the full 6×6 drive when required.

ADDED POINTS OF THE 6×6 CONVERSION

Third axle is driven rather than 'lazy'

6x6 features three differential locks

Greatly improved off-road capability

Brake booster and braided hoses included

Conversion takes around three months
