Higher load-carrying capacity
Ulterio Motiv’s 6×4 conversion for the current-generation Ford Ranger pushes the bakkie’s GVM up to a considerable 4 500 kg. Though the third axle is not powered by the engine, it assists in greatly improving the load-carrying capacity.
The design ensures that the driven axle always carries 60% of the load, which in turn helps to improve traction. The so-called “lazy” third axle furthermore features dedicated brakes.
Optional Drop-side load bin available
In conjunction with the 6×4 conversion for the Ford Ranger, Ulterio Motiv offers an optional custom-fabricated drop-side load bin for this locally built bakkie. This load bin measures 2.5 metres long and 1.6 metres wide (interior dimensions).
That said, the 6×4 chassis is effectively a blank canvas for the potential end user, with all the comfort, luxury and safety systems of the original Ranger remaining completely intact.
